Swimming Pool Rules
THE SWIMMING POOLS ARE UNSUPERVISED AND ST JULIANS DOES NOT HAVE LIFEGUARDS
- The main pool is heated from 1 April, and reaches 28 to 30 degrees celsius during the summer. The children’s pools are also heated. The pool temperatures will vary depending on the outside temperature so please check the blackboards in the pool area.
- Children may not enter the fenced swimming pool area without an adult member. It is essential that members supervise their children (aged 16 and under) at the poolside at all times when swimming and when in the swimming pool area.
- No member under 16 or guest under 18 (with a valid Guest Ticket, see ‘Guests’) may swim or be in the swimming pool area without the poolside supervision of an adult Full or Country member and their parent(s) if on the premises (with a valid Guest Ticket). The adult member is responsible for their conduct and safety.
- For your own safety, please read the pool rules signs located in the pool area prior to swimming. Please also take notice of the pool depth markings.
- We recommend that you do not swim alone.
- Diving is not permitted in the shallow end of the main pool for safety reasons.
- Diving is forbidden in the middle and paddling pools.
- Non-swimmers and learners, who are being supervised by a responsible adult as detailed above, may only use the middle pool, paddling pool and the shallow end of the main swimming pool.
- Please refrain from running and jumping around the pool.
- Lilos, balls, flippers or similar articles are not allowed in the pool. Only non-swimmers are allowed inflatables to assist with their swimming.
- No-one may indulge in such activities as pushing or throwing others into the water, ducking or similar horse-play in or around the pool; no ‘bombing’.
- Please do not swim within one and a half hours after the consumption of food.
- Please do not consume alcohol in the pool area.
- Glasses, bottles and crockery are not permitted in the pool area. Plastic glasses and disposable plates are available from the bar.
- The fenced swimming pool area is non-smoking.
- In case of emergency please sound the alarm and use the phone by the pool to summon assistance.
Guests
For each membership household up to six guests are permitted per day visiting the Club.
Full and Country members may invite guests to join them poolside and swim for which there is a daily fee (‘Guest Ticket’).
The Guest Ticket fee is £12.50 and applies to all guests age 3+.
You must buy Guest Tickets in advance of using the facilities. Pay by telephone or at the welcome desk when you arrive at the Club.
When bringing non-member guests to the Club when you are swimming or entering the fenced pool area during your visit please note the following:
- A Guest Ticket is required for a non-member guest to use the pools.
- A Guest Ticket is required for every non-member guest within the fenced pool area, even if they are not swimming.
- Your guests must remain with you for the duration of the visit e.g. they may not wait in the Club while you swim, they must join you poolside and the Guest Ticket fee applies.
- If you bring a family of guests to the Club and any of those guests will be swimming with you, Guest Tickets will be required for the whole family of guests. e.g you must pay for the parents even if it is only the children swimming with you.
- We do not have lifeguards. As with member children, guest children must be adequately supervised when poolside and swimming by their parent(s) if they are at the Club. The Guest Ticket fee applies.
- The Guest Ticket is a daily rate and includes use of the tennis courts, so your guest(s) may also join you to play tennis on that day. Tennis Rules apply.
Please note that Guest Tickets may be limited on the busiest days at the discretion of the Club.
The same guest may not visit St Julians Club more than four times in any one period of twelve months, with the view that they would be interested in joining in their own right after this number of visits.
